Our Team
Dr. Abubakari Munna holds a Ph.D., MSc., and BSc. from Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania. Dr. Munna also attended various short courses including on International Project Management from GIZ’s Global Campus in Bonn, Germany, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning from the Danish Centre for Development Cooperation in Eastern and Southern Africa, Impact Evaluation for Development from the University of Dar es Salaam, and scientific writing and Communication from Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences and the Swiss universities’ International Graduate School North-South summer school.
Munna has extensive experience coordinating project baseline surveys, undertaking environmental impact assessments, and coordinating and implementing projects funded by various donors, including the US-National Science Foundation, NORAD, EU, and the KfW Bank. Moreover, Munna has extensive international experience including attending short courses in France and presenting at various international scientific conferences including the Drought Resilience +10 Conference in Geneva, Switzerland in 2024, the 3rd World Biodiversity Forum in Davos, Switzerland in 2024, the 5th International Congress on Planted Forests in Nairobi, Kenya in 2023, and the 8th International Conference on Drylands, Deserts, and Desertification in Negev Desert, Israel in 2022. Dr. Munna serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Frontiers of Biogeography.
Mr. Sospeter Mabirika holds an Advanced Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication from the School of Journalism and Mass Communication in Uganda. Mr. Mabirika has extensive work experience in the journalism industry.
He has been working as a Journalist and Reporter for STAR TV since 2018 and worked on news coverage and documentaries for various organizations, including BBC, Amref Health Africa, TOFA-Japan, TANAPA, Grumeti Fund, Frankfurt Zoological Society, Kilimanaro Films, Serengeti District Council, Hope for Girls and Women Tanzania, Safe House, TGNP, TBC, WASHEHABISE, GEITASAMO Paralegal organization, Nyamburi Wildlife Heritage, and Nyansaho Foundation.
Mr. Magesa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Kampala International University in Kampala, Uganda. Mr. Magesa works with Strategic Media & PR Consultancy as a Communications and Advocacy specialist. He has extensive working experience and expertise in navigating diverse industries, including media, mining, agriculture, and the community at large. He previously worked as Bureau Chief, Assistant Chief Producer, Head of Production-Tuongee Asubuhi & Agenda, Producer/Reporter/Presenter, and Freelance Reporter for Sahara Media Group Ltd (Star TV/RFA).
